Sam Smith (she/her) resides in Oklahoma City with her three cats, Dumpling, Shi Shi, and Mochi. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2015. Following graduation, she accepted an internship with 108 Contemporary and then with Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition where her love and respect for non-profit art organizations grew deeper. While working in a variety of mediums such as fiber, digital illustration, house paint, and watercolor; her inspiration is derived from childhood nostalgia, strong female and/or queer characters, and dark humor. You can find her work at DNA Galleries in the Plaza District in Oklahoma City where she has been a vendor for five years, there you will find a variety of products from Tiny Wizard stickers to sassy embroidery. Her work can also be seen at The District Hotel in Oklahoma City’s Gay District, where she has created a mural commemorating the Centennial Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, “Votes for Women.” She is currently working on her original comic Tiny Wizard, a character that focuses on self-care, humor, and battling bigotry.
